Experience within Australasia confirms that large client-side potable reservoirs are at risk of microbial contamination. Where the municipal treatment authority delivers compliant water to a large campus, which in turn controls storage, distribution and reticulation, water quality must be managed and maintained. A large Auckland site worked with WaterPro who surveyed and identified improvement opportunities in the current system.
WaterPro worked closely with the customer to improve the quality, safety and monitoring of campus water; first stage upgrade is the installation of the chlorine dosing system to maintain bacterial control.
Controlled by a PLC, the existing recirculation system ensures the water in the two reservoirs is turned and used equally, with precise dosing of Sodium Hypochlorite automatically controlled and dosed. Utilising Lutz Jesco stepper motor Memdos Smart LP dose pumps and housed behind a protective cover with duplex chemical lines, operator protection is maintained from accidental contact with pressurised chemicals.
Simplifying the dosing and control system and adding safety to the dosing system ensured bacterial compliance, redundancy and improved operator safety.
